Poll: How many airships will eventually be needed? Since all the members will want to fly on a project they contribute to, we'll need to discuss where, we might want to set up regional flying clubs?

It looks like once we have a design people want, we will want to distribute it as an experimental aircraft kit. That means that each person will need to build 51% of their blimp to qualify. We can build the parts in one location and have each person or club complete the build in their location.

Gee, strange to see no input, so here goes: One.

A method which holds down the individual's COO, cost of ownership, is to "time-share" a boat or plane just like they do for a condominium here in Fla!!

That would pay for constructing the prototype. We could all be part owners with a time share of the flight time availability of the finished unit. That also means all owners must pay regular storage, maintenance and repair fees or lose their share.

Owners could earn money renting their time to other owners who want to make more flights. No renting to non-members because then it becomes an aircraft charter service and the law won't allow our experimental craft to be chartered.

That's one way to pay for a prototype, sell shares in something that's not built. It can be called a time share subscription. In Fla, many condos are sold before the first sod is turned.

That certainly is an interesting concept, 'gaiter. Can't shares, like stock, be sold too?  I believe there's been losses in the past on other projects, but if the design is sound and a small prototype is flying........ I expect that what's happening with the cool lenticular in the other post. It looks promising.

Yep, time share certs are ownership documents and thus are investment property with resale value.
We could start with one unit and after it flies, do another one on the other side of the country.

UP!
