IGADA is at that point
PLEAS PLEAS PLEAS READ ALL OF THIS AS THE IDEA COMES LATTER IN THE POST.
Well folks IGADA has reached that point where it needs a show of support from the community. I can not do this on my own as I am currently not employed. Secondly I designed IGADA as a community site so I don’t want to continue to build it on my own any way. This is the decision I am faced with. I need to start a new project that is for my commercial benefit and that project will need to get hosting. Having paid for hosting for a year when I started IGADA I will either use that and scrap IGADA until It can get it its own hosting or IGADA will need to buy its own. The site may not go down right away but if traffic does get heavy on my project IGADA will have to go. I will be willing to turn over IGADA and all of its data including the URL to any of the forum members that can meet a few criteria. One they can pick up the tab for its hosting fees, they agree not to use the site for commercial gain, and they get the majority support of the the members of the forum. I am dating this offer as of 11/28/2010 and it expires when I so chose for it to expire.
I use a host that costs only 25$ a year right now so no big deal right. If IGADA can see enough revenue to get its own hosting this wont be necessary membership is only 12$ for a year so two members will keep the site going. Also if "MEMBERS" Vote for a different "MEMBER" to be president I will be happy to turn over the keys to the IGADA castle.
Its not that I want to drop my involvement by any means but I need to work on this other project as its part of my career while IGADA is part of my future hobby of flight. I will be purchasing a program that can record Skype in the near future and I will be using that for a dual purpose of both IGADA and my commercial endeavor. Just so your up to speed on where the site is at.

Basically the only thing that needs to be done is content needs to be added and the site needs some SEO work. I am traveling for what work I have so I am away from the internet for 90% of my week. Honestly it would be better for the group to take some of this on if they wish. Secondly Before I SEO the web site and let the search engines see me I would like the community to get involved in some capacity. The current goals of the community are design and engineering of UL airship.
IGADA could be used as a common donation bead for engineering testing. For example we all now that the big cost problem faced by us is the cost of helium and a safer form of hydrogen would cheapen that enormously. It could be arranged for a lab to do research for IGADA on this. Or it could be arranged for research to be done on the cost benefit of different structural material etc etc etc. Engineering testing that alone we could not afford but as a group we could.
It could be used as a sales platform for members designed shirts or apparel or toys to raise money for each "MEMBERS" build.
Also any use you could find for a website that you think of that may support the community IGADA could flex to It as I have said in the past it is strictly the communities web site.
I would love to get any response on what you see as the best added use of the site and if any one is looking to step forward pleas let me now I would prefer someone with a track record on the forums do it but as long as the community is behind it ofcourse the final word will go to "MEMBERS".
